In her current role, Wendy Harrison-Smith is responsible for conducting critical studies into the operations and management of the NWC, leading research initiatives, and presenting recommendations to ensure the utility remains relevant and viable amidst evolving technological, social, economic, and environmental conditions. Her leadership in research and development is pivotal in driving the NWC's mission and vision forward.
On June 6, 2024, water utility leaders gathered to share their inspiring journeys toward achieving major improvements in drinking water coverage and reducing non-revenue water (NRW). The session highlighted the power of collaboration and technology-driven strategies in overcoming these critical challenges. Three water utility leaders from Zambia and Ethiopia shared their stories, revealing both achievements and hurdles in their respective regions.
As the IWA World Water Congress unfolds in Toronto from August 11-15, 2024, one of the distinguished participants from Southeast Asia is Engr. Taqsem A Khan, the Managing Director and CEO of Dhaka Water Supply and Sewerage Authority (Dhaka WASA). Engr. Khan's participation in the joint IWA and NewIBNET Initiative highlights his commitment to enhancing water services through innovative practices and benchmarking.
